The massacre continues and the frustration and anger of not being able to stop it grow. It sounds as if the hunters can match the intensity of our revulsion over the killing with their hatred of the wolves. Unfortunately, they have the numbers, the money, and the power behind them. There are people out there who think what is happening is a shame, but it is hard to really get them committed to the cause.

for people to commit is getting harder, for me i work a lot of hours but i am making it to the rally in st.paul this weekend, peer pressure from family and friends are another road block, but people need to understand if this isn’t stopped now it wil continue – MAKE every effort to support this movement or donate to hsus of howling for wolves so they can fight this in court..

The myth that wolves are destroying elk herds is totally fabricated. There are over 150,000 elk in Montana and less than 500 wolves.
The two species have evolved side by side for thousands of years.

Wolves are only targeted because they are better hunters than humans (instinctively) and true to their pack. Like always, mother nature will balance the population and those who sleep will be forced to wake up. XO

But if Obama loses the election, then what? We have Romney and his puppeteers! They are no better, in fact worse! Sometimes I wonder if animals are not better off extinct, for they at least will no longer suffer and only we, the human species, will be the losers in a world without the wonders of nature.

This is not in the public’s eye anymore,I remember when Governor Hickel of Alaska wanted more wolves shot in lower Alaska. Their was a big outcry from friends of animals and other groups. I got 350 signatures sent to friends of animals ,and when they were introduced here we held off the raqnchers and hunters,but now seems like corporate America has taken over almost everything. It is really sad,in a way I am glad I am back east and can’t see this up close,it just hurts too much.

We had big protest in the days of Governor Hickel from Alaska when he wanted a kill in lower Aaska,and in the introduction of wolves in the Yellowstone region we held off the ranchers and the hunters. But it seems like corporate America took over many things America loves.Politicans on both sides have given in to wall street and the corporations.

This makes me incredibly sad and helpless. Wish there was more I could do besides signing Petitions and donating money. The best I can do is pray for the wolves & their families, and I will continue to do that.

I sign petitions, make phone calls and email the pres and msnbc and write letters to the editor of papers….I will continue to do all of the above but frankly feels so futile…..haunted night and day by the torture/slaughter going on…..I KNOW THERE ARE MORE OF US….they just have the money and the power……I will keep on praying, too…….really wish we could get enough folks together physically where the hunters are and form physical human shields to protect the wolves….and disable all of the traps and snares……I pray for instant karma – all of the hunters and trappers are the victims!

What brainless pathetic individuals would kill a wolf in order to get a free pizza and pitcher of beer? Where is the government in America and who is really in charge? And what a choice at election time, the guy who signed the death knell of the wolves or the idiot who does long distance travel with his dog on the roof rack!
The senseless slaughter of these wolves reinforces my conviction that the human race is a nuisance to this planet. Everything is in balance (or would be) except humans. Everywhere we are, nature suffers one way or another. We are like a cancer that is now so advanced that it’s just a matter of time before we destroy our host, and so destroy ourselves.
We know there are at least thousands of people who object strongly to this appalling assault on wolves, yet where are they? Not marching to the White House. Why not? If Obama remains president, would it make a difference if thousands camped outside the White House and refused to move until Obama signed the wolf back into protection? Letters and petitions have had no effect, but perhaps a more direct approach would. What is there to lose? Just wolves!

I really cannot believe this is happening, and on the surface we’re trying to promote ourselves as environmentally aware! This is utterly disgusting, and I want it stopped by somebody in the next political term, whoever does it.

Ranchers in Montana were so sure that wolves were killing their cattle that they set-up cameras to watch it. Last week, KPAX TV in Missoula stated that the ranchers were shocked to see a group of mountain lions doing the killing.
If wolves are not doing the killing, then why are they being eliminated?
It’s to please the blood thirsty trophy hunters and the trappers who want to make money by selling the wolf pelts to Canada and China.
As for the decrease in elk, the wolves are taking the blame for the reduced number of elk in certain areas. That does not take into account that elk and deer are poached year round with the animal carcasses left in piles on the ground. The money spent on killing wolves should be used to stop this poaching.
An increasing number of elk are becoming afflicted with disease that they get from domestic cattle. Canadian Brain Worm is such an illness and it is spreading to deer, elk, and humans. There is a danger in eating game meat of any kind as there is always the possibility that the meat is tainted.
Without wolves to cull the herds of animals removing the weak and sickly stock, it is likely that people who eat game meat will become infected.
When all the wolves are gone, hunters will find that there are less game animals and the animals that do exist will not be healthy.

Most rational people would try to get to the bottom of the problem before reacting – but not these guys. They are “shocked” that it wasn’t wolves, oh sure they are. The delisting had to be the dumbest decision, I can’t believe that it would have been done deliberately, knowing the cruel outcomes. That an the reopening of horse slaughter plants, which our President is on record saying would never exist in our country again. Does anyone know that status of the WY lawsuit? I hope we learn a lesson from all this carnage in that wolves can never be any less than a threatened species where simpletons live. Which is all over America, apparently.

Dear Agnes, you can spread the word to your friends, tell them to boycott the wolf states, to boycott Yellowstone, to email the tourism departments of each wolf state. The threat of Europeans staying away is a big deal. Wolves bring in 35 million/year to the GYA. Losing that money would be a huge blow. We can make a difference.

I am extremely disturbed over how quickly that number is rising…and it’s only been 2 months! I’m very afraid to see what it will be by the end of the year and by the end of the wolf hunting seasons.
