Aerial Gunning Halted After Five Innocent Wolves Are Slaughtered…

Were any pups like these left to starve after five wolves were aerial gunned in the Lolo?

It looks like the Idaho Wildlife Services wolf killers took some heat for aerial gunning innocent wolves during pupping season…so they’ve halted it but make no mistake they’re still going to go after the Lolo wolves.

People were outraged by the aerial gunning but most don’t realize Wildlife Services (what a misnomer) aerial gunning of wolves is part of their repertoire, it doesn’t just happen in Alaska. as you can see death reigns down from the skies in the Northern Rockies too.

As one of the many examples they went into Stanley, Idaho, Thanksgiving week, 2009 and gunned  the remainder of the Basin Butte pack.

“Thanksgiving week 2009, everyone was busy planning their holiday with family. It was a time for reflection and thanks. But over a two day period, November 23 & 24,  at Stanley, Idaho, Wildlife Services launched a covert operation that is now known as the Thanksgiving Week Massacre. Wildlife Services (WS) is a misnamed federal agency that kills wildlife for the benefit of agriculture, mainly the livestock industry.

Locals watched in horror as WS agents, in a plane and red helicopter, chased down and shot dead seven members of the Basin Butte wolf pack. Two wolves were killed on a rancher’s private property, the rest on National Forest land.  Among the Thanksgiving week victims were the pack’s mother, B171 “Alpha Fe”, her three seven-month old PUPS and three other wolves. A total of ELEVEN Basin Butte wolves have been killed since late July.”

From the Missoulian:

“State officials want to kill up to 60 wolves in the region, leaving about 20 or 30, in the wake of the Obama Administration removing the predators from Endangered Species Act protections last month.”

This is their new brilliant wolf killing plan:

“‘hunting outfitters and their guides in the Lolo Zone have been authorized to shoot wolves during the spring bear hunting season”

Idaho Spring Bear Hunt Information

They’re basically just changing tactics.  Don’t be fooled they are still going after those wolves.

  1. This is insane. Maybe Idaho should consider changing its name to ‘South Alaska’.

    • Great idea John. Most people don’t even know they use aerial gunning in the lower forty eight. I think this has been a wake up call for some, especially since it’s pupping season.

  2. Idaho is really spelled Idunno…because they haven’t got a clue. The sign that welcomes you to should read: “Welcome To Idaho, Where We Really Enjoy Our Slaughter!”

  3. Let’s get people together to start patrolling the woods and rescue the pups left behind. I know a few places that could be able to care for the orphaned pups…

    • I was wondering if this would actually be possible- of course it is illegal….a little civil disobedience may be in order.

      • I don’t think that there would be much you would have need to say to get people to agree with this Gline….the way things are going, it is barely a breath away from reality. And not only because of this wolf delisting fiasco.

Speaking of which, this is a link to something I received in an email. It is a poll for a National Gray Wolf Delisting:
