Update: March 27, 2012
I see the trapper website where those horrible images of the trapped and doomed wolf reside has been password protected so you won’t be able to access the site through the KOS article, which is still up BTW. But the images are all over Facebook, not hard to find. The one thing trappers don’t want is for people to see the suffering they cause. Big mistake on their part posting those pictures but we’re thankful they were posted because the wolf won’t have suffered and died in vain. Now his pain has been exposed for all the world to see and it’s uglier than anything I’ve ever witnessed and will stay with me all of my days. Rest in peace beautiful black wolf, we have your back.
===
The Daily KOS spells out the terrible situation Idaho wolves find themselves in. The brutality and cruelty are escalating. With the addition of trapping and snaring to IDFG’s bag of tricks the suffering quotient for wolves has climbed dramatically. The situation is spinning out of control.

Idaho wolves in serious trouble
by Gallatin
Ever since Obama and John Tester worked to remove wolves from the endangered species list for political purposes, it’s been bad times for wolves. Of course, there’s a track record for all of this. It was the failure of the states that initially killed off the wolves to begin with, forcing them into the government’s hands and the Endangered Species List.
It looks like the states are at it again, and this time Idaho is leading the path to extermination.
There were many of us who cried foul when Tester introduced a rider that would undermine the ESA, the first of its kind, opening the door for wholesale destruction of species by single interests. It was even more shocking when Obama signed the bill into law.
Reasonable people would expect a few wolves to be killed with rifles, and that many of these would be clean. But there’s nothing reasonable about the wolf hate in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Recent images have become available of a trapped wolf at the far end of a blood circle in the snow. In the photo, a hunter appears to be smiling for a pose. Posters to the website indicate the wolf was shot at while it waited for the trapper to return. Who knows how long it was there, but it looked like quite a while with all that blood in the snow.

Doug…Simpson inserted the rider into the House of Representatives version since he’s a Representative. The rider didn’t carry over to the Senate version, it was inserted by Tester and voted on by the Democrat Senate, all Senate Democrats voted for the budget/wolf delisting rider except three, Wyden, Leahy and Levin. After the Senate passed it, Obama signed into law. If the rider has been stripped out of the Senate version it would never have become law. So it was Tester who bears the burden, the Senate Democrats and Obama who then sold out wolves in Idaho and Montana to help Tester outwolf Denny Rehberg, keep his Senate seat and try to hold onto their slim Senate majority.

Idaho is not worthy to remain part of the U.S.
and thus, should be stripped of statehood status as the 43rd state,
because of increased hostilities towards our
wolves and like-minds alike!!!
We’ll remain in contact with our like-minds who live and work there…
But I don’t think we should recognize its state gov’t as legitimate,
and thus, Gov. “Butcher” Otter is a traitor to our nation and he
should be removed from office and prosecuted on charges of treason!
Same goes with the Idaho legislature who passed wasteful
bills that condone these barbaric acts of animal cruelty,
and flagrant violations of our civil and constitutional rights!!
Thus, they too, should be forcibly removed from office
and prosecuted on a variety of felony offenses
including treason!

They say that they will leave us 150 wolves … but how can we be assured of even that paltry number, when the population estimates are so uncertain? What happens if they just claim they haven’t hit 150 yet and keep on hunting, until they are all gone? One season the hunters will go into the woods to kill, and there just won’t be anything there …

captainsakonna…they have no idea how many wolves there are in Idaho and they don’t care. The ONLY thing they care about is having enough elk and deer for hunters to kill. They will continue to decimate the wolves until there are none. We have to rise up against this terrible cruelty. To think that poor wolf was shot at twice from the road before he was killed by the trapper, the image of him standing there so vulnerable, bleeding, will haunt me until the day I die. I literally can’t stand it anymore. I hope that picture goes viral across the country for everyone to see what is going on in Idaho. The wolves are paying such a horrible price, just a horrible price.

You cannot trust at all what these people say. The number should be at least what the biologists had worked toward, 350. Now that the barn door was opened by our government, I am not sure that it can be closed again and these “people” in the wolf states will work toward eradicating all the wolves. I want our Congress to introduce a bill to reinstate them to the endangered list as soon as possible.

All I can say is SHOCKING. That man can stoop to this to rid the earth of the Wolves. What must their children think of their parents to kill these creatures in such a cruel manner. These people need to wake up quickly before the their Karmic debt turns on them. Wolf Slaughterers, Stop and think what you are doing before you kill the entire wolf family out. Cruelty like this is not acceptable to a nation, it is a really bad example of man.

The horrible images keep me awake at night and haunt me during the day. . . I have known wolves and it is my ‘family’ that is being persecuted. I think the images need to be spread on twitter and facebook. ( with graphic warning )
It is staggering to see the impact of the violence and cruelty, to get a sense of the suffering. I believe sharing the shock is the only way to
get it to stop. It is after all, the truth of trapping and appealing to trappers moral justice is not going to work. They do not feel compassion.
Remember it wasn’t until the early 1900’s that child abuse was made illegal. So you are part of history in calling out for humane treatment of animals. Expect a hard fight against a person who has limited abilities for rationality.
Everyone send copies ( repeatedly) of the pictures of the suffering to legislators, to every official involved with a simple message. Make them see their complicity repeatedly. Haunt them with images of the horrible truth…for a better more humane tommorrow. Never give up. Bless the wolves.

When I went to view the graphic images – I received the message “ACCESS DENIED”! On Saturday I, personally, received from a rabid trapper/hunter of wolves – a photo of which the caption read “I love you Linda Camac!” The photo was very disturbing and sad……it was this trapper holding up a large dead wolf….as he continued to say on the thread “this one is for you”!
I found this to be more than innuendo, I found it to be a threat. Particularly coming from a guy who on his site is a sexist, racist, speciest and who covets a photo in his album of noted serial killer JEFFREY DAHMER! Last night, however, it was discovered that Fross has changed his name to ‘MIKE WOLF’, in a cowardly manner to hide himself from the wrath of the activists who contacted him on the thread about this photo! In addition, the incriminating photo, itself, has amazingly and disturbingly disappeared from FB and every one that I sent it to! Only FB could have taken it off of everyone’s wall, I believe. I really wanted to archive that evidence, as someday we will be able to watch this homeland terrorists closer for any infraction. I also wanted to report him to the police and the FBI or attorney general’s office, as they are always interested in the activities of these militia types.

Linda: document everything. The images are being deleted in general so please see next post. The KOS article was also removed.
That means the fB-ing and Tw are working. I had a fB debate with someone from a western state on wolf delisting last summer and they were also threatening. Remember trapping is a bully activity.
What else would you expect? Sending you support. Expect the mean-spirited reply from this lot, that way it can only get better.
(Half joke) Be sure to document any images for their source and
save them… as they will disappear. Not a problem. Carry on !

Short message. All contacted.I either faxed or emailed this AM. (Too early to call I found) Over 40 years I found that it really does no good just to talk to your friends or acquaintances about the atrocities that are being inflicted on our beautiful friends. You must take ACTION, otherwise, you might as well be watching cartoons. You have to contact the responsible parties…over and over again. Be a red hot thorn in their sides. They don’t care if you scream on the Internet. Most probably don’t even look at it. Have to hit them square between the eyes, so, get out your pens and write them, if you have a fax machine (I bought a cheap one) fax them, or email those bast****!!!! If you plan on calling them, I find that it’s best that I write down the main points I want to hit then make notes at the bottom of the paper on how in hell to end on a friendly tone. If I don’t do this…I’d lose it and call them every name in the book….and out of the book.

Unfortunately, this is part of human history on earth, the history of people as the cosmic bullies and killers. Particularly disgusting is that so often the killing goes hand-in-hand with religion and the Bible that seemingly gave human beings dominion and control over all. Guns and God and death to all nonhumans seems acceptable to some.

I wrote to all the people on the Idaho list although with everyone else doing that they are stubbornly insisiting that the wolves be killed. sigh, why did we let these poor creatures regain a foothold in their own territory just to let stupid, bloodthirsty humans kill them all again. the number 150 is just not enough to genetically ensure the survival of wild wolves. even 350 is a useless number.

Please, so much to share;
1 As you peruse any trapping websites, save the images and document their source. There are several reasons for this: images are likely to disappear and you have captured documentation on the cruelty.
2 Look into the link sites on the trapper webs and you will see the big$ corps behind the wolf de-listing. No suprize there, ID Commission is a lapdog. One of the national lobbys is National Cattlemans Beef Association (NCBA) and on their site it lists an official Press Release.
Saw this on twitter.
3 Allies Abound: Seattle Fur Exchange, now American Legend Auction and Joseph Morelli: President and CEO, is another big industry that
is behind the smoking mirror. Bullies in the woods get their cash from
a host of fur buying companies and SFE is the big sugar daddy. READ more at:
This site mentions that 10million pets are killed each year and also ‘trash’ species. Be sure to read the “Fur Trapping” article.
I think by MAKING THIS A BROADER ISSUE it will encompass wolf protection, as well as, incidental deaths to non-target species. FWS calls them “Trash” species – like my neighbors hunting dog? No comment.
4 The post office sells pre-stamped postcards and you can print a message on the back. Using the images taken from trapping websites
(even if you have to sign up and ‘pretend’ youre a mountain man) you can print the message side.
Remember child abuse was not illegal until the early 1900’s. So there’s a deep paradigm to confront here. Don’t expect trappers to
have shame or compassion: they are used to clubbing animals if necessary… Be strong. Breathe

I see the terms “man” “human” “people” applied to the wolf killers. This is wrong. They are cowardly dim ghouls. Their wives and children should be made aware of this fact. Are there no science teachers in the schools in these backward areas? Children should read A SAND COUNTY ALMANAC and ask mommy for help with their homework. A public information blitz is the only way to change redneck minds. Pardon that oxymoron.
Experts in wolf rescue are trying to convince TV news audiences that it is a bad idea for us to adopt wolves. But I’m beginning to wonder if that might be the only way to save the species: by going into the target areas and taking the orphaned pups. A desperate sounding action, but one to consider. The babies should be kept in large fenced acreages free of human contact. Selective breeding can be practiced to preserve the best qualities of each subspecies. There are places here in the east where this is being done quite successfully.
One interesting note: I have a neighbor who keeps two wolf statues on her property to scare off the deer that have overrun our area. And yes I have met a few people who keep individual wolves as house pets. They’re much nicer than pit bulls.

Nabeki, I just wanted to tell you what beautiful thing you are doing. I live in Colorado, and i know that there aren’t many wolves here, but i still want to do all that i can for them. Not many people in Colorado take awareness on how few wolves there are here, every time they see a coyote or husky they say “Oh look, a wolf. See their population is doing fine, continue the hunts!” And nearly all the residents here believe that wolves are bad, and blame them for many things, including human mutilation. Colorado is a tough state on wolves, we have sadly kept wolves out of our state for many, many years. the hunts wont stop. They want to keep the wolves out because we have the highest elk population than any other state. they want to keep the wolves out so that the greedy humans can continue hunting elk without “bothersome” wolves. Because much of Colorado already believes in the culling of wolves, it will be hard to convince anyone to join me in a rally. Do you have any ideas?
