  3. How absolutely beautiful. God bless the Nez Perce. If more groups could at least show this film in many schools, showing that the fairy tales are exactly that….’fairy tales’, and the wolf is a non aggressive, extremely important part of our Eco system, eventually the wolf would have a large population of humans on their side. Enough people have to be taught about the wolf, enough in order to stand up against those who want to kill them for blood money or for sport. (Sport is when all sides engage obligingly.)

  5. The Nez Perce should of been consulted in the delisting before the rider was attached to the budget bill( which had never been done before) I just don’t believe that Jon Tester had the balls to hold everyone on the unemployment rolls hostage while he attached a rider for his personal gain ,to take the wolves off the listing ,when I emailed my senator the response was very muted and they didn’t want to talk about it , now until the elections is the time to holdem accountable,as now with Testers actions its everyone for themselves and you have to letem know it

    • Please go to http://www.alecexposed.org and note which elected officials are ALEC members. There are lists by state. ALEC members receive cutbacks from corporations, as well as, their elite elected official salary, health and pension benefits, and other in-kind benefits.

ALEC is an organization of corporate interests and lobbyists and behind every un-Constitutional and anti-citizen, anti-environment. bill, including the horrible ‘switch and bait’ riders…This is not
conspiracy theory. Follow the bills, follow the supporters. It is very simple to track.

Please pass this on ? I’ve just received my primary Voter’s Pamphlet and of course, no mention of the candidates which are ALEC members. Research will pay off in many ways. And the wolves don’t vote so…

        Also, Wisconsin’s Political Arena

Efforts to recall Gov Walker and Lt. Gov Kleefish continue, although Walker is up for recall in early June. Is anyone an environmental attorney? As if Walker is recalled, can the ‘execute wolves by any method law’ be challenged?

“January 17, 2011 Organizers of the effort to recall Gov. Scott Walker filed over 1 million signatures with the Government Accountability Board (GAB). An additional 845,000 signatures were filed to recall Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and a sufficient number to recall for Republican Sens. Pam Galloway of Wausau, Van Wanggaard of Racine and Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls. Earlier in the day, the group working to recall Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, filed 20,600 signatures. ” [81] ( SOURCE: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Wisconsin_Protests)

Pressuring corporations supporting ALEC, and thereby Walker and Kleefish, may result in more corporations backing out of the lobby group and reduce favor among the legislature for the wolf kill bill.

3 Perhaps call out the NRA on supporting a govenor that is in recall.

  6. Nabeki, Thank you for posting the video. I think it is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. It made me weep. Wolves will forever be in my heart and everyday I look at the pictures of them I have on my walls in my home and I feel they are a part of me. I like to believe that someday they will run free in harmony with nature without man interfering in the balance they bring to the environment.I remain ever faithful to the cause and the dream we all have for these magnificent animals. • You’re very welcome Bert. It’s so sad to look back and see how excited everyone was to have wolves return, only for everything to degenerate into this. I also was saddened to watch how the Nez Perce were driven off their lands and the loss of the bison and wolves. Just a terrible tragedy. Now the wolves are being driven back to extermination in the West by the same types of people who killed them in the first place. Unbelievable!

  7. I am just sickened at the persecution of the wolves, actually of all animals that live on this planet. I believe in the dream, that one day we will all be able to live without harming one another. I think one of the ways to accomplish this is to get the word out; with your friends, your co-workers, on your facebook page, with a bumper sticker……….any way we can. Some people don’t want to think about the suffering, we need to MAKE them see, make them hear. Show them all the time that there is tremendous suffering of the animals of our world. I have a beautiful mountain photo and when someone comments on it, I say ” yes it’s a beautiful forest but somewhere in it, there is an animal suffering in the jaws of a trap, or there is an animal who was wounded by the thoughtless bullet of a careless hunter” MAKE people think! We can make the dream a reality.

  9. I have been following your blogs and it has been very imformative as well as some nice videos such as howl across America. I have a petition to open up the eyes for the people of Idaho, for a sneaky one is trying to make it so trapping can not be banned. It is here: http://www.change.org/petitions/idaho-resources-and-environment-committee-ban-idaho-trapping-snaring
If you could sign and show your support to end the cruel trapping and to make the vote for trapping a stand alone and not put with not being able to ban hunting, trapping and fishing in to one lump, showing we are aware and this is just another sneaky attempt at keeping an inhumane practice. Thank you for all you do :0) For the animals,

    • I so agree with your heart and intentions towards all sentient beings. Trapping, snaring, poisoning, hounding, must stop.

Sincerely, I feel adding fishing will be counter-productive. It will be extremely difficult to get those in the ‘social license to torture’ mindset to stop with the hunting clubs like Safari Club, Boone&Crockett, Nat’l Rifle Asso, which are still very Colonial.

I ask you, kindly, to consider removing fishing for the time being. America is still very neo-Colonial. As the Indigenous will attest .
Again, I suggest this in accord, but the pained and tortured eyes of so many animals photographed in traps and in snares haunts me, so
I ask that this start with the four leggeds for now. In solidarity…

    • Christina, I have been watching the Last American Cowboy. About several ranchers in Montana which are family owned. In these series, I did not hear about any wolf or wolves getting their cattle. Most of their problems are the weather. Snow and cold weather. Bringing in the cow which were are about to give birth.
How they had to help the cows which are new mothers to give birth. This is on Animal Planet. Nowhere on these shows were there any talk of predators killing any of the calves or cattle.
It was all about the weather , whether it was below zero or snowing.
Sport Hunters, politicians, wolf haters and Ken Salazar The Secretary of the Interior and OBama which are causing the whole anti-wolf problems.

    • Pat…this video was filmed just a few years after wolves were reintroduced to Central Idaho. It is many years old, released in 1999. They were talking about having 100 wolves after the pup count. This is what it was like when wolves returned to Idaho. The Nez Perce were very involved but as the years went on the ranchers gained more and more control over wolves. Wildlife Services started killing them for miniscule livestock depredations and that has brought us where we are today. I wanted to show this film so that people will understand how badly things have degenerated. Back in those days nobody thought wolves would be hunted. It was a different time. That’s what I meant about about looking back on a dream.

  17. It really upset me when he said , “I think the wolves are here to stay in Idaho.”. This really is a wolf 911 but where is the outrage in the general public???

    Like

    • Donna, We have a rapid news cycle and people have short attention spans, we need to be able to break out of the Northern Rockies media and get this out to the general public on a sustained basis. You can see how the Bransford incident is already starting to fade. The wolves’ plight must have sustained media attention to keep it in the public eye. Public pressure is the only thing that can turn this around.
