Wolf Pup Howls To Snake River Packmates….

This melted my heart. The wolf pup was howling for its pack and seemed so surprised when they howled back.  The pup is a member of Oregon’s Snake River Pack.

  3. That is a wonderful video. It is also sad. I can’t help thinking about all the little ones who may howl and have no families left to answer. I guess that doesn’t occur to the hunters or it doesn’t matter.

    • Me too Marcia, so many little pups that don’t have families to howl to ):

  5. HELENA – Federal officials say they are investigating the poisoning deaths of four wolves and six eagles found in May in Montana’s Bob Marshall Wilderness Area.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said in a statement Monday that the animals were found near the Big Prairie Ranger Station. Recent laboratory results concluded that the animals died of poisoning, and officials are seeking information that will lead them to those responsible.

The agency is offering a reward of $2,500 for information that leads to a conviction.

The Fish and Wildlife Service is investigating along with the U.S. Forest Service and the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks. Information can be phoned in at (406) 329-3000 or 1-800-847-6668T

    • Here we go, now it’s poison. I’m sure the eagles were collateral damage. What cam we expect when the agencies who are supposed to be watching out for the welfare of wolves, abandoned them to their enemies to torture, abuse and kill. How they sleep at night is beyond me. I blame the USFWS, Salazar, the US Senate and the Obama admin.

    • equusarian01…The pup is certainly in a better place in Oregon than the other Northern Rocky states but even there wolves are not safe from the persecution of the livestock industry.

  8. I suspect the poison was meant for the wolves and since eagles lunch on the carcass of wolf kills, they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.Yep, time for the Feds to move in. The video is wonderful.

    • I totally agree on the eagles Bobette…those horrible people don’t care what they kill in their pursuit to slaughter wolves. Relisting is the only answer yet “crickets” from the USFWS!!!!!

  10. Some find my manner of thinking strange because to me this wolf pup is akin to a human child lost and separated from his/her own in the forest. Naturally that child is going to yell, cry out, and do whatever is necessary in an attempt to find their family. I suppose I think this way because I raised two very Hi%age wolf dogs and know how important family is to them. They are anything but ordinary dogs!!!

    • wolfeagle1028….Your thinking is not strange at all. Wolves are sensient beings who deserve respect. They are dedicated to their families, probably better parents than many people. The people who lust to kill them are soulless idiots.
