What Wolves Are Up Against

What Wolves Are Up Against

You can’t make this stuff up.

We can thank our feckless, no good politicians for this. Maybe they’ll read a few of these and see what they’ve unleashed on wolves. But nah…don’t think they’re losing any sleep over it.

I think these comments make the case for relisting better than a million posts.

BTW, this is just the tip of the iceberg, I have thousands of these, sent from Dante’s Inferno.

Grow up my Grandfather killed hundreds of wolf because they kill game animals and are threat to small children that live in the country they finally had to poison them to finish them off. Me I just gut shoot them so they can die on their own. Also don’t even think I just hate wolfs I even shoot coyotes and leave them lay not to mention five dovermans that were packed up and running and yes I got them all.

  2. Nabeki – While this disturbs me to no end, one things is clear, YOU CANNOT change ignorance. This is the sort of sick mentality that has been passed down from generation to generation and I am afraid they will never see the err of their ways. Most of the idiots that post things like this have never appreciated anything nature has to offer, let alone trying to educate them on the eco system and why the wolf, or any wild animal for that matter, were put here. Sadly enough, it is man who has brought the death penalty to these animals by pushing them out of their rightful homes, all in the name of technology. These are the kind of ignorant fools that are just one step away from taking a human life, just because. Now, unless I am totally out in left field on this, I have no information that a healthy wolf has ever eaten a child or attacked an adult! I would really like to know where they get their information. They say that as wolf lovers, we base our data on emotions? Seems they are basing their love for killing on their emotions! Goes to show how uneducated they really are. For me, my emotions come from being taught right from wrong and being taught as a child to respect all life. I am not a city girl. I was raised in the country and the damage from public grazing, which I personally have witnessed, has far exceeded any damage a wolf or coyote can or has done. I have watched our beautiful lands being cleared only to put up more condos, houses and strip malls. What right do we have, as humans, to decide what and who lives? I come from a long and strong line of the Shosone Tribe and the one thing that has always been taught in my family, generation to generation is this: What we do to our animals today, will come back to man ten-fold. In the end, Father will take his retribution, but for now, at what price? All I can do for now is offer up prayer that our beautiful wolves remain safe, become invisible and learn the evil ways of how man lures them. Run free my babies … Thank you for allowing me to voice my thoughts … My emotions …

    • Beautifully put. It is indeed an impossibility to educate someone who can’t even learn to spell. Brain damaged blood freaks just cant get their jollies any other way. I would love to see how macho they are if they had to go after a wolf with equal weapons. Just what they were each born with. Be a great way to “cull the idiot” population.

      • Makes me wonder if the anger fueled by those of us trying to help is being visited on the wolves. How much more punishment are the animals undergoing because the wolf haters also seem to hate us? That idea scares me. The rage simmering among the good old boys in rural America is finding one outlet in torturing wild animals.

    • Janet…Oh the haters are all about emotion. They have nothing on their side besides emotion. They send me those comments because they enjoy getting a reaction out of someone. They have the mentality of teenage boys. Who talks like that if they’re an adult? Who expresses such hatred for an animals that has never done them any harm? Scapegoats have been around for centuries and the wolf is a convenient one.

I try to ignore them – there is no answer that that kind of thing – they will believe what they want to believe – nobody will ever change their minds. Their Children – sadly – will grow up the same way –

What I have researched has been quite the opposite.of what they are saying . .If they were to pick up a book, or do some reading on their own and find out what wolves are really all about, they might change their minds if they knew what they were talking about.

  11. Nabeki, I haven’t made myself heard aroud here in a while, but does not mean I have declared myself AWOL, I have been watching over this since it started, being here in school, US history class listening to BS on how the settlers pushed and killed off EVERYTHING to conquer the”wild west” I have nothing left..I have signed petitions to exhaustion and none ever make the slightest scratch on their purpose..1041 gone, forever, neither you or me could ever gaze at them no matter what, and ALL because this jerkbag Neanderthals that have been untied by the useless apes so calles politicians.. I really want to study biology and specialize on animal anatomy and medicine so I could be able to help the wolves regardless of the income it could produce, but I will be sincere, I’m losing hope…My days are ruinrd every time I check on my Hotmail every morning and see through your posts and many others that the death toll on wolves is rising to the skies.. Reading the comments from those douches on their hating pages and the ones you quote makes me feel useless, powerless..as the awareness of them being “there” ready to end the lives of the wolves and me being “here”, unable to do something ravages me and enrages me to no end.. I am overall strong, I can take anything from insults to aggressions and stand firm, but this just obliterates me, I can’t stand it.. We must really start to rely on politicians to carry out our petitions and start taking actions by our own hand, mostly like the people back in Mexico, they are sick of the organized crime controlling the land that once was so peaceful, so they are arming themselves to fight as they have realized that the government is not doing anything to help them… So you see, I think that we should act the same, they and us, are not so different, they are in power because of us, and if we apply the hierarchy that we are ALL equal and they hereby declare themselves as the authority to judge life and death, what stops US from doing the same? I KNOW that would make us no better than them, but the wolves need help and they need it RIGHT NOW..

    • You are absolutely right in everything you say. It IS time to start arming ourselves and being prepared to directly confront these goons in the field with the same tactics they use so mercilessly against animals. So-called stand-your-ground laws might actually work to our advantage. An armed militia of wolf defenders, even if it did nothing but parade around for the cameras, make veiled threats and act tough, would certainly attract the attention of the media, otherwise pre-occupied with the latest doings or undoings of some no-account celebrity or politician.

Here’s hoping that the censors who run this site and have deleted past calls for robust responses to the on-going wildlife holocaust in this ciountry don’t find such sentiments too unsettling, politically incorrect, and unwussified to post.

      Like

    • Daniel…I know how much this hurts you and every wolf advocate that is exposed to it. Everyday I wake up and think what fresh hell has been perpetrated on wolves, what else do they have to endure? But all it would take is one stroke of the pen from Obama, by executive order to stop this. Or if he even cared one whit, to instruct his USFWS or Interior Secretary that he wants the wolves relisted, it could happen. That’s what makes this so egregious, because we could always count on the Democrats to at least try and protect wildlife. But then we learn that Wildlife Services kills millions of animals and birds every year in the name of Agribusiness and this has been under the watch of both parties.

But still we’re the majority and these neanderthals and I don’t want to insult neanderthals, have been allowed to run wild through the wolf population in five states, killing, torturing and maiming. If we’re going to get anything done we HAVE to come together and form a strong movement, that says no to this killing. We can do it, there are hundreds, thousands of animal rights Facebook pages all doing similar things. We need to stop all the bickering over turf and unite for this common purpose.

We’re getting ready to launch our campaign in the next month, it’s been a long time coming and we’re hoping it will make a difference for the wolves. Hang in there Daniel!

Nabeki and all the people that have commented on this and previous topics: I could not agree more in your comment that ” we HAVE to come together and form a strong movement, that says no to this killing.” I believe this is the only way. These retarded minds will never been convinced unless the wolf gets the full protection of the ESA and if they kill, they could be prosecuted, that and penalties going to their pockets would be the only way they would stop, even if they do not agree. And Daniel Martinez is right when he mentions that small communities in Mexico are taking their protection from the rampant violence from the drugs cartels and the government in their own hands. These people have lost parents, brothers, sons and daughters to these violence. I understand there is a difference, but the common in these two situations is we are loosing precious wolves lives, we share a goal and we might work to stop this madness. I wish my English could express more of what my soul feels and hurts… this has been too much. We have to stop it!

blood from their bodies, while the sadistic hunters blow off the smoke at the end of their gun barrels and grin.

Pray for them, pray that understanding will open your
heart and mind to a less narrow-minded view of this
      subject.

It’s God’s call to take care of those ‘bozos’, and maye
you’ll learn that what you’re (in part) keystroking is wrong,
      dead wrong.

  22. I grew up in Northern California in the heart of the Gold country.
We had coyotes and rattle snakes. No one bothered the coyotes, as they didn’t bother anyone. In the summer my sister and I would sleep outside at night and we would watch the coyotes run right past us. It was always a thrill to see them, especially during a full moon.
My sister and I would keep track of how often the coyotes came by. They were on a six day cycle. We made sure to sleep out when we knew they would come by. It was during the 1970’s. We also had a tree house in a big oak tree. Sometimes we would sleep in the tree house.
Our cows and horses would stay by the tree all night. We only had two calves and three horses. We were so innocent then. To this day I still marvel over acorns. You can’t get any more country than that!!
As I have said before I would lay my life down for just one wolf to live.
Wolf haters are just plain EVIL! oh yea and stupid too, they can’t even spell right. And they are allowed lethal weapons in their hands?
    May God help us all.

    • Christy..Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us. Oh the innocence of children, what amazing memories of the little Song Dogs. I can so relate to what you’re saying. We actually spent our summers in a cabin in Wisconsin, laying on the pier watching sunnies shading themselves underneath. Snapping turtles roamed the beach, bull frogs hid under the banks of the lake, tadpoles hatching. Now kids are stuck inside on their laptops, texting, using cell phones. It’s almost the death of innocence. Will they ever experience the natural world they way we did?

As for the wolf haters, did they get moose eyeballs handed to them by their fathers, the way Sarah Palin did? How can you ever respect wildlife if you only see them as something to be exploited?

If you talk to the animals, they will talk to you and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them you will not know them. And what you do not know you will fear. What one fears one destroys.

    • Oh I love that quote Christy, the Native Americans had so much to teach us about co-existing with nature. Have you ever read a book called “Black Elk Speaks”. It might be out of print but if you have a chance to pick it up you will be amazed. He was a Lakota Medicine man and actually witnessed the Battle of the Little Big Horn when he was a child.

  24. There are many sayings by many wise Indian Chiefs which ring true, I come from the Mescalaro Apache, my father was decended from the Shaman of the tribe. All animals have always meant something to all Indian tribes, they belong to the earth and the Indians live with the Mother Earth, The wolf is Teacher, guide and wisdom. And yes it was intended to kill all the buffalo so that the Indians would starve. You see the Indians only killed what they needed, but not the white man, they slaughter everything and leave it to die, they clear the land for themself and then wonder why the animals come calling, well who took the land they lived on and where are they supposed to go? It was their land first, not yours, but they don’t remember that. Humans are the most dangerous predator on the face of this earth and will destroy anything they can before they realize it can and will have an effect on their future and then it will be too late.
Let the wolves run free and the bison also. for their time will come.

    • Victoria…very true, it sickens me to think what they did not only to the buffalo but almost every living thing that walked or crawled. They obliterated the wolves, coyotes, the bears and all the game these predators depended on. A tragic, tragic thing.

  25. These are typical comments from every single killer be it wolves of deer. They complain about the deer ruining their yards or spreading Lyme. There is no end to their sickness for blood.. They want these animals for the money in their pockets and the pat on the back from their killer buddies. However I want you all to do a google search on ‘Wiley and the hunter’ – the story should come up. Some times it’s not what we say or do that changes a killers soul, but the reality of how precious our wildlife is, that can bring about a change. True- Some killers have no heart or soul and all life is worthless

  26. Nabeki,
Wolf haters have no heart or soul. They kill for the joy of killing and would likely kill a human being if that opportunity arose.
Often, they are alcoholics and spouse abusers. They raise their children to be like them and have no empathy for the feelings or suffering experienced by other creatures on this planet.
They thrive on being in group settings with others that share the same hatred. They are “groupies” that enjoy killing wolves to be accepted as a member of that group. Many of them have no education beyond high school and they have poor communication skills. They belong to organizations like the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and create their own groups such as “The Outdoorsman Hunter’s Church” in Stevensville. Some local bars advertise that they cater to hunters and offer “specials” to them- especially during hunting season. Other local businesses and even some government buildings have pictures of hunters and dead animals (including wolves) hanging in their offices.
Wolf haters are also bullies. After I wrote a Letter to the Editor of the Missoulian about wolves, I had 30 vehicles park in the pasture next to my house and the men all had guns, Some of the men shot the knot holes out of my wooden fence. A neighbor called the County Sheriff and 2 police vehicles arrived and made the violent crowd disperse.
I have been in touch with other supporters in Montana that have had a similar experience. Because of the wolf-hating mob and their threats, many people in Montana who would like to step forward and join the cause to protect our wolves are afraid to do so.
It is a shame that we live in a country where the “just people” who defend our wildlife and want to preserve the wilderness have to live in fear and worry about their personal safety and the safety of their family.

    • Toni, You hit the nail right on the head, exactly why few people speak out in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, because there is systematic bullying and intimidation going on. People are afraid for their animals, they’re afraid for their families and even their lives. Bill Gibson, in his excellent articles for Earth Island Journal, covers this militia mentality that is running rampant in the Northern Rockies. People wonder why wolf advocates don’t show up for rallies in these states or speak out for wolves, it’s because it’s like being a black person in the deep south in the 1950’s. I’m so sorry you had to go through that, it’s horrible. And what is the punishment for this bullying and intimidation? NOTHING!! So they get away with it and silence one more wolf advocate. This is a national story that needs to be exposed.

Thank you for sharing, I’m sure there are many more stories like yours. People afraid to speak out for fear of retaliation. It’s criminal and it’s not only hurting wolves it’s hurting wolf advocates.

  27. Nabeki,
I appreciate your encouragement and support and will not stop fighting for protection of our wolves. If everyone who has been threatened would come forward, then we could do something to stop this form of bullying.
I am careful now and hesitate to have my name in print locally.

    • This insane hatred for the weakest and most vulnerable is a horror that I don’t understand. Reading the comments from Dante’s Inferno, I couldn’t help but think that any racial, ethnic, gender, ageist slur could be substituted for the word ‘wolf’ and it would have the same satisfaction for those writers. These people will torture and kill anything that can’t or won’t protect itself. Unfortunately, too many of TPTB listen to these warped words from twisted individuals and obey them. These people are terrorists and everyone is afraid of them. I applaud those who would stand strong against this intimidation but I would advise not going into their areas. It might be a good idea to stay out of wolf killing states….just in case….!
