Obama and his cowboy @ the Interior, have been a disaster for wolves and wild horses since Obama took office. He delisted wolves in the Northern Rockies TWICE. First in 2009 and again with the help of the Democrats in the Senate, delisted them permanently, by signing the wolf delisting rider/budget bill with NO JUDICIAL REVIEW. He is tone-deaf when it comes to the suffering that his administration has inflicted on wolves and wild horses. And the number of wolves killed is actually much higher than 1084 because Wildlife Services continues to kill hundreds of wolves every year in the Northern Rockies. It’s extermination Part two.

Exposing the Big Game

Since 2011, when Congress stripped wolves of their Endangered Species status, an estimated 1,084 wolves have been killed in the Northern Rockies. Again, that’s ONE THOUSAND AND EIGHTY-FOUR living, breathing, social, intelligent wolves killed by scornful, fearful, vengeful and boastful humans, often in the most hideous ways imaginable.

Of course, that number might not seem so shocking if you consider that 5,450 wolves were killed in the Montana Territory in 1884, after a bounty on wolves was first instated there. Clearly, there were a lot more wolves in the country then as compared to now, but that didn’t stop the Obama Administration from declaring the species “recovered” in 2011 and handing them over to eagerly awaiting hostile, hateful anti-wolf states to “manage” as they see fit.

Now, under a plan supported by the federal government, the state of Wyoming is opening even more wolf habitat to unlimited killing. As of…

    • He has turned out to be a disgusting President. What a lousy example he has set for his children and the world. He has said it is fine to kill innocent animals for cheap thrills. What else will he destroy?

    • Most politicians care only about staying in power and pleasing those who can get or keep them there. Animals have no money. They have no lobby. They run no big organizations. In other words, they are powerless. That is why they (and the bison and the wild horses and the squirrels and the coyotes and the prairie dogs and the pigeons are being killed). Money is what speaks, and animals have no voice. Only we who care can give them one.

  4. Obama lived in Hawaii and obviously didn’t think much of the wildlife in that paradise. He ate dog when he lived in Indonesia. At Harvard, he got to practice his arrogance and indifference to animals and people who care about them. Some people are missing a connection in their heart to wildlife and wild nature. We do not have a friend in the White House.

    • He obviously isn’t ready to fight for wild animals, and that was obvious in his choice of Ken Salazar and his refusal to rein him in.

Concerning nonhumans, the only good things I can say about him is that he keeps his dog IN the car instead of on top and he appears to shoot clay pigeons instead of real ones.

In these times we end up being grateful for small steps.

  5. I believe that Obama is the most hated president of all times by the American people, with the exception of the low lives and illegals (non Americans that Obama has unleashed upon the American people with a plan that they will hopefully kill some of us….of that I am sure) while getting free hand outs of our money. Every time his lips move..he’s lying. How stupid does he think the American people are? He’s the one who is stupid for thinking this. The only ones that are brainless like him are the ones who condoned the slaughtering of the ancestor of man’s best friend. And if I hear one more horrific lie from the Fish and Game departments, I think I’m going to look for a way to keep them all pinned at the bottom of the Ladder of Evolution! The Neanderthals that are doing the actual slaughtering of the wolves I feel are Nazis to the wolves, and we should call the Karma police and have them all thrown into leper colonies!

  6. Has anybody written to Mrs. Obama? The kids love their dog. They didn’t get that from their father. Maybe we should all be writing to the dog lovers and not the dog eater in the white house? Maybe send them pretty wolf mothers with their babies drawn by other children or photographed? Nothing disturbing because they are kids. Just Nabeki’s memorial with candles and numbers is enough for kids to see. Invite Mrs. Obama to read the info here. Don’t send anything worth more than a t shirt, it creates protocol issues. It would be great if they could get to meet an ambassador wolf. They would never forget that. My guess is they would never let their father forget it either?

    • Yes, I was thinking that also. MO loves their dog and has referred to him as “my son”. Also, those two girls seem to be turning out well. BO is not a friend to animals or our natural world, but if we could somehow reach her…

      • Yes, Candace, I think we must do that. MO is a natural born leader. And she loves being around kids. I think if we organize a mail in campaign of children and their parents that send mail to a central address and is sorted for appropriate content, then shipped off in a box to their house and invite them to meet an ambassador wolf and maybe hold a pup in their arms, we can educate them on wolves and why they are necessary. I will volunteer my PO box unless someone other than me lives near or in DC? I am in Maine. If we get enough letters and pictures, maybe Ed Markey would bring it to the white house? People, kids, write to Mrs. Obama and her children. Do your best wolf art. Ask them to save wolves from becoming extinct. Tell them why you love wolves and how they improve the ecology of their area. Ask for wolves to be safe to raise babies just like people are safe. I will put some feelers out for an address in the DC area and someone to sort for any inappropriate hate mail and return it to sender. Then see if a wolf friendly rep in DC will hand deliver the box. OK kids…get coloring, drawing and photographing and writing. I will have an address soon as I can get in touch with one of our reps. Love you all and your beautiful hearts! Melody

  7. I am an animal lover from Chicago that has received newsletters and alerts from various groups in the West and Northwest educating me on the horrible plight of wolves in our Country. I totally agree the wolves are getting it from the left and right,
I was dismayed when I read on the Huffington post, praiseworthy comments on Ken Salazar, from Frances B (NRDC top official) and the head of the Sierra club, about his tenure when his retirement was announced. I have received numerous bulletins from both organizations about the wolves treatment under his leadership and also frequent requests for money to combat them in court. It was outrageous to see their names and comments in the piece and I called both headquarters to say I was completely turned off by their about face.
This past week based on several bulletins and emails I received about a change that was occuring in Wyoming impacting the wolves on March on I made calls to my Congressman and the Gov of Wyoming’s office. The women that answered Gov Mead’s phone stated nothing was happening on March 1 and the info I had received was “simply not true”. She transferred me to Pam in Wy Fish and Wildlife and she told me essentially the same thing and further stated the hunting season was over??!!
I can only hope the new Sec of Interior will be better. It is sad that these beautiful animals are entangled in all the bureaucracy in totally dysfunctional Washington DC. As taxpayers we should be outraged that measures affecting lives of animal in our Western states are fodder for getting an essential spending bill passed. That is evil and wrong.
I am dismayed by the resistance I have encountered on my small attempts to speak out for wolves. I am glad to have found your resouce and will continue to help their cause. Thank you for your dedication.

  9. Denderah, I’m with you, feel good stuff will not work and it takes us away from actions that might help. We have to wake up the national media and wake up the American people to this senseless and heartless massacre of innocent wolves. If that doesn’t happen, the wolves and this country is screwed. This is a culture war, of good versus evil and right now evil is winning. This country is descending into a pit of cruelty and heartlessness.

  10. Denderah, that wasn’t helpful. Sorry you are getting burned out. We all are. Sometimes I think a couple of hours of art therapy is very good for us so we can relax. I do rescue work. 21 years running now. On my own very thin dime only. I know if I don’t take them then they get the needle at the pound. Just so you know, I have no shortage of other plans. I did that one so kids can feel involved in helping wolves because who feels the most emotion and helplessness…kids. So if I can help kids and help wolves by getting kids to advocate for wolves and maybe we pick up the Obama girls (and you know they can get airplay) it will call attention to our cause. If it works, great, if not, well, on to the next plan. I really do not want to talk about myself but I feel forced to. As for you and the no ideas, that just goes to show how divided we are as so easily defeated. Do you want something you can do thatwill help? Go on the Community environmental legal defense fund site and look upDemocracy School. Go if you can. Protect the environment and the wolves in it. They work with you and have great lawyers. I’m nothing at all, I am expendable. This is about wolves and changing the minds of the new generation to see reality so they can change the world. Melody

    • We need to get Michelle Obama and the girls involved in our fight. Can someone please get us info on how to contact them directly?
I’ve been calling my idiot Illinois congressmen, the governors of all the wolf-hating states, the US FWS and everyone else I can think of. I wish I was closer to the states affected. I would form a human shield wherever I could. I dream about sniper hunting the hunters! I am a great shot (target shooting only)…but I’ll bet I could nick a few of the creeps.

      • Vicky, thanks. As for the hunters who are not obeying your land rules you posted, you need not shoot them but put a couple of slugs in their engine block. Or their tires… no wolf pelt is worth an engine or 4 big all terrain tires.:-)

  13. Yeah! Obama is absolutely disgusting – might as well be a tea party member – too bad one of his kids or his wife doesn’t like animals – other than that “cute dog, Bo” Too bad he doesn’t see the connection although I do not really think they are animal people just good for pr to have a cute dog in pictures – I did notice the HSUS is conducting a petition drive to stop some of this slaughter – first group to do something realistic – I still say (and tell everyone I can) the pictures of these assholes torturing and slaughtering Wolves and Coyotes et al need to be on the nightly news and in the newspapers and in People mag. – women don’t this kind of unwarranted violence and there is nothing like a picture of what is actually happening – they could also show the slaughter house w/ horses being stabbed in their back to paralyze them and hung up to die – if only I could get these assholes in a leg-hole trap and hang them up

    • kelseyjoe… You pretty much summed it up concerning Obama. I don’t think he “gets” wildlife at all, I don’t think they’re on his radar. He has been tone deaf to wolves ever since he delisted them. Writing to Obama is about as useless as writing to his departing cowboy he selected for the Interior. His choice of Salazar has to be the worst appointment @ the Interior since James Watt and I think Salazar is definitely worse. In just four years Obama, Salalzar and the sellout Democrats, like Harry Reid and the rest of the gang that voted to delist wolves, has done more damage than George Bush could even dream of and I’m no George Bush fan. And the wild horses have been decimated as well, there are now more wild horses in holding pens than in the wild. Horse slaughter continues unabated..and under the Obama admin..horse slaughter is once again made legal in the US.

I shudder to think what the next four years of this disastrous presidency will hold for America’s wildlife.

Did you guys hear that the state of Montana is now targeting the bison?

    • LittleSongWolf….Montana has been waging war against the bison for decades. It happens every Spring when the buffalo leave the park headed to their Spring grazing grounds. Please visit the Buffalo Field Campaign to read about it.
