Killing Wolves

Summer is almost over and instead of wolves being allowed to raise their young pups in peace they’re being subjected to pain, suffering and death because wolf hunting season is upon them once more.  This will be the fourth wolf hunt in Montana and Idaho, there would have been five but Judge Molloy relisted wolves in the Northern Rockies in 2010, stopping the fall hunt. It was a short-lived victory because Senate Democrats passed a wolf delisting rider (with no judicial review) in the Spring of 2011. The rider was sneakily tacked onto a budget bill and all Democrat Senators, save three, voted for it. Obama signed it into law, effectively ending the ability of advocates to fight the delisting in court.

Here are the links to  fish and game agencies who promote and profit off the killing of wolves for sport.  The Idaho hunt started on August 30th but in reality wolves are hunted somewhere in the state year round. Montana wolf archery started on Sept. 6,  it makes me sick to think wolves are being shot at with compound bows and broad head arrows. In Wyoming’s wolf predator zone, wolves can be killed 24/7, 365 days of the year, by any means. Wisconsin is allowing wolves to be hunted with dogs, basically legalizing dog fighting.  The brutality has begun again!

Since mid-term elections are right around the corner you might want to click here. It lists who voted for the 2011 wolf delisting rider. Then in November, you’ll know exactly who betrayed wolves and vote them out of office!

  3. We have to keep up the fight. We can start by backing Pete Defazio’s petitioning Sally Jewel to establish a buffer zone around Yellowstone and other National Parks and National forest and Wilderness area’s.
And reign in the Wild Life Services and hold them accountable.

  4. So sad. We have made no progress in evoking as a species in this regard. Why on earth would a wolf hunting clause be in a spending bill??!!

Our government needs an overhaul ASAP!! Disgusting!!

  8. Am continually sickened & saddened by human serial killers who think killing precious wolves (killing ANY animal) will make their “dix” bigger…a pox on all their houses…*tears*…

  9. Having worked for and contributed to Democrats my entire life, I now tell them exactly why they will not receive a cent from me until they undo Jon Tester’s abomination of a rider. It is hoped that the President and Secretary Jewel will undo the damage, but until then, no $$$ from me.

  10. Frankly, my view is that people who enjoy torturing and killing animals are perverts. Wolves have become the species of choice to hate and the “opportunity” to “harvest” them brings out the most loathesome, ignorant, immoral sorry-ass excuse for human beings. They lurk in a shadowy filthy world of violence and dominance, and I shudder to think that I might brush up against one of them in a grocery line or movie theater. Even the thought of one of these monsters setting their gaze upon me makes me feel dirty.

    • I agree, they are killers, abuser’s of all, usually found in positions free to dominate and abuse, often wife beaters, rapists, and child abusers all typical of their behavior pattern.

  11. Oh, and I forgot to mention that many of these perverts work for Idaho Fish and Game, and — of course — the federal U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services.

    • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services? No. Wrong agency, AGAIN.

    • Agree! All Fish & Wildlife agencies, from county, state or Federal level are corrupt with “special interests groups that have bought out the agenda of Wildlife management long ago, only way to stop is get the $$ out of politics and redo these agencies for public interests.

I am so sick, physically ill, this is a severe crime against humanity instituted by an gov.agency, with full protection to slaughter beautiful animals, dogs, yes, wild, but still dogs, spelled backwards is God, which to me “Dog”,is my religion, killing these innocent beautiful animals is complete dark & evil insanity!, With no answer s of yet to dissemble this group of zombie freaks of destruction, this agency is beyond corrupt and desperately needs a complete overhaul, until then, I can only wish harm by “Hunter” accidents on every single one of these sociopathic killing freaks!

  13. I don’t know if I’d put my hopes on Secretary Jewell – she seems to be a proponent of exploiting our natural resources to their fullest extent, and removing protections for our wildlife by weakening the ESA, Horses and Burros Act, Migratory Bird Treaty in favor or energy development and human recreation. No giving back. Oil has never been used more:

Surprisingly, the Sara Palin wolf gunnin’, elk shootin’, grizzly-killin’ Alaska of days past appears to be changing. (Killing mothers and theri cubs in their dens is now forbidden. How could anyone in their right mind consider that hunting?) However, the millions of children who Ms. Jewell wants to see running around in the National Parks (preferably not all at the same time!) can’t all get to Alaska to see them. Maybe that’s a good thing.

  15. Interesting, we don’t obliterate mountain lions, and wolves and mountain lions are on the same trophic level, scientifically.

Wolf-hate, snake-hate and spider-hate were spawned in the Dark Ages. Thus, fairy tales like Ms a ridin hood were rooted in these ancient voices. Way back then, it was believed wolves were the dogs of Satan.

The first wacko-Christian settlers believed that wilderness was the playground of Satan and that Native Americans and wolves were Satan’s disciples! And, of course those evil snakes were rooted in that garden! This brainwashing exists today in America, most notably, the lower-class rednecks states. While today’s sciences reveal, wilderness or wild, natural ecosystems, are every reason mankind breathes!

If all wild, native species are the strands in the web of all life, then the wolf, alone, is the entire glue that holds the entire web altogether. So, not one of those great strands are sliced away and lost.

Scientifically, the wolf falls under “trophic cascade”. When ecosystems have healthy populations of wolves, the entire ecosystem thrives. With wolves, Earth enjoys more plants and trees, Earth’s oxygen and fresh water factories. With wolves, more butterflies and pollinators exist to renew the entire ecosystem; more birds and more diversity of birds; more wolverines and badgers and more food leavings for countless wild, native species, like coyotes and eagles.

With wolves, the entire ecosystem flourishes and is healthier and more stable. And, so is Earth safer!

  25. Found a wolf pelt for sale by a supposed Native North American, he/she wanted almost $800 for a female wolf pelt (turned into a headdress/cloak) from Canada. His/her attempts at placating any animosity towards the sale of the pelt was that it was part of his/her culture and that the wolf was not endangered, also that the sale of the pelt would go towards keeping his/her people and culture around. Yeah, lovely isn’t it?

It is not just hatred we have to fight but pride, greed and selfishness.
