  1. I don’t see coyotes or other wildlife chewing through the planet but humans do.

  2. There are 7 billion humans on this earth, causing more damage and destruction than any wolf or other wild animal ever could or ever will. Industrialized civilization is a cancer on this planet.

    • I despise “progress”.

    • And what about a depopulation, that could be realised gradually of course, on the base of self-imposed reduction of human’s natality? That would be a way, how to save the life on the earth. Many people = many problems… I think this is a basic question not only for politics, but for all of us :-).

  3. I so agree! It is now even more evident that as soon as Homo sapiens became upright, (enabling it to use its arms for weapon (tool) making, it was the beginning of the end for this Earth. Now, we have our destructive techno-fixes, and endless growth, but the seeds were already in us eons ago. I weep for the non-human lives, and what we do to them every minute of every day.
Thank you for your comments, at least some of us (unfortunately not enough), are not one-dimensional in thought.

  4. Human beings are worse than the plague.

  5. “I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you’re not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.”

  6. Quoted from Project Coyote’s latest email:

“The California Fish and game Commission received tens of thousands of letters in support of Project Coyote’s petition calling for a ban on the cruel practice of pleasure killing derbies, that awards cash and prizes to those who kill the most coyotes, foxes, bobcats and other wild animals.”

“In addition, for the first time, ethics are taking center stage: ‘Awarding prizes for wildlife killing contests is both unethical and inconsistent with our current understanding of natural systems,’ stated Michael Sutton, President of the California Fish & Game Commission. ‘Such contests are an anachronism and have no place in modern wildlife management.'”

And a little on video from Camilla Fox, of Project Coyote:
As someone who has been pressing for wildlife management reform for over 20 years, I can say without a doubt that we are witnessing a paradigm shift in California. For the first time, our voices outnumbered those who view predators as vermin to be killed for fun and prizes. And our voices are being heard.
