Activists Will Urge Gov. Martinez to Reverse Game Commission Stance, Grant Reintroduction Permit to Ted Turner’s Ladder Ranch

SANTA FE, N.M.— Wildlife supporters, including local activists from the Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, New Mexico Wilderness Alliance,  Animal Protection of New Mexico and WildEarth Guardians, will rally tomorrow, Tuesday, at noon at the state capitol to ask Gov. Susana Martinez to allow Ted Turner’s Ladder Ranch in Sierra County to continue housing Mexican gray wolves as part of the reintroduction of these endangered animals. Earlier this month, the state game commission denied the ranch’s permit request, ending the facility’s 17 years of Mexican wolf conservation work. 6. It’s July 17 and wolf supporters just rallied a couple hours ago in Las Cruces, against Steve Pearce, an elderly and by all his actions, subject to dementia, representative of NM’s 2nd district. Pearce co-introduced HR 2910, a bill to prevent USFWS from continuing the recovery of the Mexican Wolf.

That bill has not yet been passed.

Pearce is one of those sagebrush rebellion types (cliven Bundy-“what-is-public-is-mine, all-mine” Domesticate-the-world-for-my-financial-gain-and-kill-all-who-even-appear-to-diminish-that-$-gain), who so totally fear the little Mexican Wolf that they invent Euro-tales of it gobbling up humans and all the money they could make.

For him, it is of course about total release from any government control – remember the 100 year poisoning, trapping, bounty campaign that killed all the wolves in the southwest? He is instead totally controlled by those who have overexploited and devastated the soils of the southwest through grazing domestics too much in one place.

In spite of over 3 of every 5 NM residents supporting the wolf’s return, Pearce is totally controlled by: New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau, New Mexico Cattle Growers’ Association, New Mexico Wool Growers, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, and the Public Lands Council.

Numerous ranchers who disagree with the positions of those anti-wolf organizations do exist, but close their mouths on the subject.

I have not seen results or media on the Las Cruces rally.
Do not expect Pearce to awaken, but understand that daylight on what he is, is a first step.

Unfortunately the campaign spending of those I listed along with other unregulated-capitalists, will continue to control the beautiful, short, and innocent lives of wolves.

Your power to remove that destructive way of being is yours to wield or not. The culture of death to all innocent and wild, needs your withdrawal.
