I encourage all who can make it to come. This event will help to bring more widespread attention to the plight of wolves and wildlife in general. It is all about reforming wildlife “management,” which serves the livestock, farming, and hunting industries rather than wildlife and those who enjoy wildlife. There will be guest speakers, films, educational booths, music, etc. Please attend and Speak For Wolves!

Ok, letting off some steam…
It is almost hard to believe that next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the wolf reintroduction project… and it has failed. Not because the wolves reintroduced were unable to adapt to their new enviornment or that they were a detriment to the wildlife/people living in the areas they now roam, indeed what we have learned is that the grey wolf is a crucial part of the ecosystem. It is because of the stagnant attitudes that fester there and the people behind the scoped sights seem to be proud of their ignorance, for they don’t seem to appreciate any of the knowledge acquired from nearly two decades worth of research. They have demonstrated this by targeting and destroying animals that have long since been studied and admired… alongside a long list of actions many of which I wish were exaggerations, including authorities turning a blind eye to and even promoting poaching of wildife. A woman is punched by an anti-wolf advocate and there is very little coverage… a hunter catches flak for being an egotistical show off? Help help, terrorism!
“Journey”, OR7, will probably die in the next few years, mark my words; he will strung up, skinned and stuffed for someone’s petty bragging rights or have his skin and body parts sold off for someone else’s vainity and idle concepts of what it means to be ‘close to nature’… or he will be poached, dying in obscurity or ‘mistaken’ for a coyote by some malicious incompetent. And his death will be celebrated by the anti-wolf crowd and not a single worthwile utterence of disgust will be heard from the opponents or, even if there is a cry of anger, it certainly will fall on deaf ears.

Where has this backslide in morality come from lately? Why is it that such blatant disregard is so f***ing prevalent across the broad spectrum of human affairs. We are horrible to each other, we are despicable to the environment and our values have sunk deeper than the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

To correct myself, Ron Gillett assaulted Lynne Stone (Boulder-White Clouds Coalition) in 2008 by grabbing and shaking her after she took photos of him harassing her; I need to check my finer details better.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is looking into whether a new law creating the Idaho Wolf Depredation Control Board violates the federal acts by transferring hunting and fishing license dollars to a fund used for the killing of wolves.
The bill, signed into law last week by Gov. Butch Otter, requires the Idaho Department of Fish and Game to transfer $110,000 annually to the fund, which will be overseen by a board appointed by the governor.
